Don't confuse true optimism with being naive or HOPE-ful beyond real belief.

just a note: burn baby burn was not the theme of so-called baby boomers. That's more of the absurdist hype about an entire generation, most of whom worked hard, didnt burn anything, except years of energy trying to get an education, deal with war torn, raise a family, contribute to community and world. WHen I read old hype like "hippies and drop out and burn baby burn," I know we're talking bs, not insight, not overview.

cheap portryal of an entire generation is so off mark, it's prob not worth commenting on any longer. But sort of like cockroaches, that tripe keeps being repeated.

lone voices, wilderness, and all

every young generation has said 'we can come together.' It is the power of youthful spirit, righteous and normal, not some extraordinary moral edge.

it's only extraordinary if one cleaves to such for life, despite having faced evil and its works. That's something to remark about for certain

Weird that Helms is in the same died-on-Independence Day group as Thos. Jefferson and John Adams.

The leader of the far right GOP Helms dies on July 4th. The GOP dies on our Nation's birthday (are the founding fathers telling us something..like the GOP are anything but pro-American?)

And don't forget the man, Tim Russert, who read Clinton's premature political obituary died, prematurely, on Friday the 13th. The same day the power went out in Washington DC.

I knew things would get weird in this election but not this weird? I wonder if that black cat that roams the Capitol Building has been seen again recently? *shudder* I'm not making this stuff up. Have a look:

Encounters with the black phantom feline have been reported for years by those who guard the halls at night. Demon Cat appears only at night and only when the person who sights it is alone. At times, the experience was only the sighting of the cat. Other times, the experience was scary.

One guard who saw it wants to remain anonymous. It happened on a January night in the 1970s. As he was walking through a passage way, he saw the black cat approach. The phantom appeared to get larger as it walked toward him. Its eyes had a reddish glow. The guard was afraid to move. Finally, the phantom reached the size of a tiger and its meowings changed to roars. It crouched and sprang and all the guard could do was to pray and close his eyes. Nothing happened. When the guard opened his eyes, the cat had vanished.

Some of those who have seen the cat have fled from it in terror. Others reportedly have fainted. When the witnesses to the phantom regained their composure and tried to show others what they saw, the cat had vanished, leaving no trace.

It has frequently been sighted before a change in the administration. Although no detailed records have been kept of the sightings, the appearance of Demon Cat is believed is a bad omen because it is seen most often seen before great tragic events. It was seen before the crash of 1929 which led to the Great Depression, before JFK’s assassination and other national tragedies."
