I never said there is no racism. I clearly said that statistics have been used to 'prove' racism where none existed, solely on statistical discrepancies that did not take into account non-racist origins for the discrepancy.

So, what I am saying is that when it fits the left's purpose, statistics alone are proof of racism. When statistics can hurt someone on the left, then statistics alone do not tell the whole story. The usual 'Big Lie' Democratic strategy.

I bet not one of you defending Obama would have one excuse for McCain if thngs were switched.

I was not a math major, but it seems to me, from reading the original article that the women aren't necessarily doing too bad. There are 33 men and 31 women total. Also, there are only 5 staff members paid above $100,000, only one of which are women. Again, the only math I excel at involves restaurant tips and bill times, but if you were to remove the 5 highest paid staff-members (outliers in this case), wouldn't the pay be more equal? The women may even come out slightly ahead, as the 4 most senior men skew the numbers in the men's favor.

I see that the left leaning blogger are not waiting for the election to start making excuses for Senator Obama. His website makes references to women earning 77 cents to every dollar earned by mean. Of course, the reasons for that difference are due to exactly the same excuses that leftist are making for Senator Obama. I guess this is like liberals wanting to end workplace sexual harassment until President Clinton started sexual harassing the hired help and then the definiton of sexual harassment had to change.

Please, almost all of the bloggers at The Moderate Voice complained that Repubicans made excuses for President Bush that destroyed their credibility If progressive posters do not want to lose their credibility, they should never be making excuses for Senator Obama. If Senator Obama wants women to earn the same as men, he should pay the same. If he wants to allow for differences in position or experience, he needs to adjust his homepage to eliminate the lie that is posted there.

The first, and largest problem with the account is that there is no reference to the relative positions of the employees involved. How long has each been on the team? What experience and education did they bring with them at the time of their hiring? How skillful were they in negotiating their starting employment level? (and, following that, starting pay.) How many compensation reviews have they had?

Of course, applying those metrics across the board in society at large just about completely negates the broad-brush much-touted pay differences between men and women.

Yeah, seems you could have a beef with Obama for not having more women on staff (debatable without more info but legitimate), but the pay thing makes no sense whatsoever until you know the positions of the people at a minimum.
