No nukes period. There will be great and justified resistance to this BigOil scare tactic.
S-A-F-E, clean alternative site-appropriate techonolgies will prevail. We won't be herded with nuclear scare tactics. Now we will have safe alternatives even if they've been actively suppressed by BigOil for at least four decades. Better late than never.
The first new nuclear plant should be installed in downtown DC or we should install none at all.

Absolutely a nuke in D.C. Maybe if Congresscriters were able to observe a Gen III or IV plant in action, they might overcome their phobias, so that areas that need better energy infrastructure could actually get it, instead of trying to make due with oilburner power-plants.

Seems like the Republicans just don't get that their problems are much bigger than Bush. When he exits, they won't be able to rebound without getting rid of all the other horrible leaders who have been around since the beginning of the mess and done nothing to fix the problems.
So... the democrats problems of unity (created in the last few months) are nothing compared to the republicans long standing issues within the party.
I'm trying to decide whether or not this makes fun of people like me! :) I'm one of the people saying we should do it all - dig and develop alternatives, though I'd like the latter to win out in the end for more reasons than just energy independence.
