Hope abounds when left and right agree.

Ralph Peters explains why he’s “for McCain, but not the GOP.” I don’t agree with everything Peters writes here, but I thought this particular comment was pure gold: “I’m disgusted with both political parties. The Republicans have abandoned their principles while the Democrats have abandoned their senses.”

Jay Newton-Small builds on the recent David Brooks’ meme about the “other side of Obama.” (And if you missed it this morning, check out the contribution to this category by TMV’s own Shaun Mullen.)

Finally, at Donklephant, a passionate critique of the compromise FISA bill — in which the comments exchange, between the post-author and blog-publisher (Justin Gardner), offers a capsulized version of the key arguments made by those who accept the perceived pragmatism of this compromise and those who don’t.

    *********

I couldn't agree more. This statement wouldn't be accurate though if Hillary Clinton wins the nomination instead of the much-BigMedia/GOP promoted Obama.

Hillary Clinton makes sense, especially now with her husbands reputation for fostering the strongest economy in US History, her actual support of minorities for decades vs Obama's professed but lacking support. She would unify millions and take an easy win in November.

To cast a vote for a candidate that offers the opposite of sanity and unification, does qualify as a loss of sense. Worse, it is patent stupidity. “Hey, I know. Let's enter this three legged horse in the race instead of the four-legged one. He limps a bit but he sure is young, sleek and has such a smooth whinney.”

    Just amazing..

Silhouette, Senator Clinton's more of an insider than Senator Obama. In fact, she's firmly entrenched in “THE INSIDE”. Thus she's “abandoned her senses” as well.

This is just like the “Obama is elite” meme while Clinton is a “down home girl”. Both statements don't make sense.
