I agree with both of you.

The Dems didn't have the numbers or the nerve to impeach---and did not want to risk their hard-won, razor-thin majority by doing anything so controversial. Remember, the GOP suffered a backlash after impeaching the popular Bill Clinton.

By making it appear that only Bush stood between us and another terrorist attack, the WH won the battle of media spin, and an impeachment attempt of both Cheney and Bush would have been a disaster for the Dems. But that doesn't mean that they didn't richly deserve it for selling the country out to their rich, corporate buddies.

Obama said if elected he would look into the crimes by the Bush administration and by Bush and Cheney in particular. I sincerely am hoping he does so. And punishes them.
This is one president that should have been impeached and it will be a scar on our history that no one had the nerve to do so. But, allowed Bush to continue and keep committing crimes against this country and world.

"Keeping us safe" is only an excuse Bush uses to garner more power and money for himself and his friends.
