I agree with moving on, but not with with forgetting. We can't clearly see where we're going unless we know where we've been. The double standard of what the US has demanded of Europe and what it has failed to demand of itself always struck me like the proverbial elephant in the room.

By now even a simple acknowledgement of this part of our history has become a radioacitve subject to many people.
