Bush v. McCain: A Nutshell Comparison

For those keeping score — and for Hillary Dems thinking of voting for McCain or enabling a McCain victory by not voting at all — The New York Times has a handy tally of points on which McCain and Bush agree and disagree. Before it’s all over, we’re all going to need one. Dana Milbank says it best: ‘Put Your Right Wing In, Take Your Left Wing Out —If John McCain keeps dancing like this, he’s liable to break a hip’.

For me, SC nominations and the power grab by the Executive have become the primary, though far from only, issues..
These are the areas where McCain has been sounding more and more like Bush of late.

A very useful roundup. It didn't come off as particularly biased either way as well.

The folks on the far left have tried their hardest to spin McCain as a clone of Bush, or a "Bush third term". But he's not the same -- In some areas McCain is just like Bush...in others, he's not -- just as the NY Times article points out. It's more complicated than trying to paint McCain with the Bush-brush.

For me, I had to determine exactly which political issues are most important to myself. And on those issues, McCain is much more like Bush than not. So for me, it's a no-brainer - no McCain. But for other people who have a different set of priorities, well, let's just say "your mileage may vary".
