you know what they say jchem? If you can sum the essence up in a sentence or two, you've got it down. Let us know. I know you will bring good to the world. Many in my profession are deeply interested in anything that enlightens us about roots of behavior...any kind, in any creature, including parameciums. lol.
Hang in there, keep going. Soon you will be dancing.
dr.e

Dr E,

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I think the shredded cabbage pretty much sums it up...I'm researching a lot of learning theory; organic chem tends to carry a negative stigma with it, so if I can figure out how we learn it then I'll go ahead and make everyone a fan of organic chem!! There's much more, but that's primary.

David, congrats. long haul; the last part the most difficult sometimes to the psyche. Pretty soon first year law, right? I still have some of the notes on Constitutie and Torts around here somewhere if you have need. Good luck!

and Jchem, wow PhD. in organic chemistry, what is your dissertation inquiry? That's a long long haul too. When I finished my post-doctoral diploma many years ago, I felt like my mind was shredded cabbage. lol. Just a tiny advice from an elder... teach with those you truly likewhere the soul of what you love most has a chance to grow. Whatever you decide, it will be revealed to you, I feel certain...

Dr. E

David,

Congratulations! Let me just say that I am a native South Dakotan, so I'm happy you were able to get to know some of the friendly folks from my neck of the woods. I think I'm pretty much in the same boat. I'm set to defend my dissertation for a PhD in Organic Chemistry on June 23. I'm hoping I'll feel as happy when its done as you do now. My problem is that I have a few offers to go teach, but I haven't really decided where to go. I guess time will tell that story. This is a big accomplishment. I hope you find what you're looking for.
