Ah man...I came home tonight and saw this. Very sad.

Yes, as Joe notes in the above review, Russert was fair.
But for me...I loved watching him for his almost boyish love for politics. I know of no one else in the media with that infectious energy in talking of politics.

As politicalbyline notes above, Russert will be missed....

I go into reading blogs, and the kinds of blogs I read because of this semi-obsession of following politics that is shared by most readers of TMV.

So today I'm home sick from work and have been for several days. I had put the tube on the bedroom on the U.S. Open and conked out a few minutes later. Laying there half awake, thinking that I ought to get up, I heard the words from Brian Williams "Tonight we remember our colleague, Tim Russert.". My eyes flew open and a "DAMN!!" formed in my mind as I sat up and stared at the screen. Joe gave a good summary of him and his skills. He wasn't perfect and sometimes even someone who just follows he and his fellow journalists like myself would say "But why aren't you asking him...". But Joe gets it right. Russert was among the best in his field and the nation has lost someone valuable to their ability to follow the upcoming election and its aftermath.
