BBQ
Nobody I can remember, and I've been around for a long time, has changed positions as much as McCain. The tax breaks he now brags about in his economy platform are the very tax breaks he opposed a few years ago when they were Bush's tax breaks. .
He even went along with Bush's signing statement, rendering the torture bill meaningless, even though torture was McCain's signautre issue.

Yet, I don't call him a conman. I don't know what's in his mind. or his reasons for all the changes. They happen to make me suspidious, and I could guess.
But I wouldn't have voted for him, anyway, so I don't see the point of guessing or calling him a conman.

Those who prefer MCcain should just go ahead and vote for him.
No silly conman games necessary..

But it has already been done and shown not to work. McCain certainly has the staff to do the research. He knows it doesn't work and doesn't care. Just like the fact that the numbers don't add up for his claims of responsible spending and tax policy.

My point is that McCain isn't a conman, he just hasn't researched it enough. He is wrong but that doesn't mean he is a conman. He thinks it will give drivers a little extra cash, this has nothing to do with energy or even long-term economics. Unless you think Obama was being a conman when he tried it that it was all a political pander. He even wanted people to put signs up saying that he helped lower gas prices. I don't think that but if you think McCain is a conman you must think Obama is too.
