Congratulations to Sen Clinton for pulling it together when it counted and doing her part to reunify the Democratic party. She has received plenty of criticism for holding out, so now lets give credit where credit is due.

I have to confess that I voted for her in the primaries and was disappointed when the press appeared to turn on her and vilify every slight gaffe, while they glorified Obama in a worshipful way. I believe that many in the media just did not want to face another Clinton administration with all of the rehashing of their baggage from the '90's. In contrast, Obama seemed like a breath of fresh air.

But Hillary is a tough and competent public servant who certainly would have made a deserving nominee. Of course I plan on supporting Obama, but it is with a tinge of sadness. I am a female and who knows when if ever in my lifetime another woman will get the nomination. Hillary might have been our best candidate.

Hillary's speech was among the most, if not the most, masterful political speches I can remember.
Therrin lies the Democrats' dilemma:
>first woman vs first Afro-American,
>Obama's transcendental speech on race vs Hillary's masterful speech blending acknowledgement of a recent fight with an embrace of the future, the fight to come,
>the effectiveness of one style of politics and framing, shown to work in the past, vs a new, more nebulous, style, reaching for new standards and appealing more to ideas than brute political force,

It speaks well for the Democrats that they created the dilemma in the first place, but it also speaks to the difficulty of first choosing between the two, and later, in unifyng the two in one Party.

I sincerely hope that the VP question takes a breather while everyone has a chance to adjust and incorporates this historiclal race and it's result.
Rushing tomorow in before we have dealt fully with yesterday and today's dilemmas can lead to rash decisions.
I think we all need a breather and time for reflection.
