I am sure he and Obama will find plenty to debate about. John McCain can debate himself with his history of politically expedient position shifts.

It is a non-issue to most Americans. By "champion" we don't want someone pandering to or joining screaming extremist losers as we saw with the AIDS nonsense in the 1980s. Marriage is a single issue and it's neurotic to be obscessed with this. (If it's an obscession, it's excessive and progressing toward extremism.)

I know you disagree Dennis but it seems consistent with what he has said before. That he is against gay marriage but thinks it should be left to states (ie was against federal amendment).

But if he is now saying he supports a federal amendment than he definitely would be changing his stance.
