Please don't assume that everyone who favors a more democratic UN, favors current US policy. I think we need a stronger emphasis on democracy at the global level BECAUSE I disapprove of United States foreign policy.

If this organization is perceived as putting up walls, it wuold fail, I agree. But I don't think that's the right way to look at it. Instead it needs to encourage new members, as in new democracies.

Nor should it be. But that's not an argument against a more democratic global organization. I don't know the details of McCain's proposal, but clearly what we have now does NOT work. I say it's time to discuss alternatives.

The US needs to stop being a school yard bully. You know what I just realized? This is actually a good analogy of the US today…. not only is the US a school yard bully, but the rest of the world is growing up and the US, like all school yard bullies, will continue to go downhill (when compared to other countries).

I don't know how the school yard bullies you encountered while growing up, but all the school yard bullies I had the misfortune of encountering are now just big losers.

Is it any wonder that we're so reviled around the world after these clowns have been calling the shots for so long? And don't get me wrong, this idea of American Exceptionalism/Imperialism is bipartisan. The Republicans have just been more blunt about it.
