The Obama Auschwitz Controversy Is Over, Right?

To most it is. It was clarified and most people on both sides who believe there are other issues out there (things such as the war, economy, gas prices, energy policy, the economy, even the strategical positioning of various candidates in the upcoming election) have decided to –kindly pardon the expression — move on.

But some haven’t — and some have clearly had enough.

That's a shorter version of the truly memorable slap-down John Cole delivered to the wingnut-o-sphere yesterday at Balloon Juice (warning - may not be safe for work, nor your soul):

  • Davebo
    That was classic.

Obviously that guy isn't a "real soldier".

I, for one, have not had enough. I believe that Mr. Obama, Chicago's own native son, should produce the serial number of his great uncle so that it can be easily determined whether or not he served in the company that liberated Buchenwald.

And, by the way, was this great uncle the type of 'typical white person' to which Mr. Obama, Chicago's own native son, refers? Or is he the crazy uncle to which Mr. Obama, Chicago's own native son, compared Rev. Wright?

To PWT - "Please crawl back under the rock you came out from." Coutesy of SadlyNo.
  • PWT,
He's actually a native of Honolulu. Get your facts straight, mister!
  • PWT
    Chris,
The phrase "Chicago's own native son' is a reference to the main character in the novel 'Native Son' by Richard Wright and not to his actual place of birth. I've been implored not to use the title character's name as a reference to Mr. Obama.
  • Yeah, I know. I'm just joking with you.

    pwt,

there might be room for you under that rock

Subject: Re: Any Record Of Charles W Payne?

I don’t claim to represent anyone. You are the one who came to my son and I asking for information.

Please spend ample time chasing down the lies fed to you by chickenhawks Bush & Co. Like 90% of this administration, they don’t have the foggiest idea what we went through or what we saw at Ohrdruf.

I wonder how many people who visit the 89th Infantry site and support Mr. Kitchell’s work realize his politics are those of Cindy Sheehan?

now they are trying to smear a ww2 vet???

    have these people no shame??

YES PTW. You have been politely asked to drop the native son business because several TMV authors and several readers know the history of it and why you apparently used it. Even if they are being uncharitable you have been asked politely to do so if you wish to comment on TMV. I'm not going to keep leaving requests.

Stick to the issues in the posts. I already requested this and this is the final request. To me it is incredible that with all of the substantive issues we face in this country Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, liberals and centrists can shove all the big things aside that could in themselves spark heated debates and focus on this kind of bilge. But, then, in 2004 I passed on doing posts and posts about allegations about Bush's military service AND posts about Swift Boat allegations against Kerry -- and both sides were angry at me. Stick to the issues raised by the posts please. My having to leave this kind of message twice is more than enough.

Totally drop the use of that phrase. The fact you repeated it several times above is way over the line since you were warned. So NO MORE, OK?
  • PWT
Mr. Dalton, I wish you the best of luck.
  • runasim
I seem to remember a comment here at TMV by someone who had personally tried to research the military history of Obama's ancestors in an effort to prove misrepresentation. in Obama's statement.
When it comes to political attacks, no time or effort is too much time or effort.

On a side note, PWT gives poor whites a bad name. They ought to sue for defamation of character.
  • Slamfu
That comment about Cindy Sheehan was what really got me. Of course this guy disagrees with you so he is a total leftwing nut right? At the risk of sounding like a hypocrite, pretty typical of the right wing. Your credentials don't matter, just the fact you disagree with me.
