Joe Lieberman Jumps the Shark. Again.

436N_Gollum_LOTR_Posters.jpgRichard Nixon was the last politician whom I hated, but I got over that not long after he slunk out of Washington when I figured out that hating someone — especially a public figure — was drag energy, to use the term of the day.

But Joe Lieberman is causing me to reconsider.

Where to begin? That this sniveling Uriah Heep of an obfuscating sack of excrement parading as a John McCain penis extension dishonors Jews, Democrats, veterans . . . I could go on and on.

Well, not to outdo himself, Lieberman will be the headliner at the Christians United For Israel Washington-Israel Summit this summer sponsored by the Reverend John Hagee despite the fact that the presumptive Republican nominee has stopped making kissy face with Christ’s 13th disciple.

This begs a question: What has happened to Lieberman? Medication error? Head injury? Silent stroke? Whuddya think?

When he left the Democrats, he left a career's worth of alliances and loyalties. Now Lieberman is only loyal to himself–and will coopt with anyone who feeds his hunger for more power.

I think most have fundamentally misread the Hagee endorsement as a simple pander for votes (although McCain's disavowal was in hopes of not losing votes). Hagee's not just a kook (I think he purposefully plays up his clownishness to avoid serious scrutiny), he's a playa with serious influence and serious cash.

    Wow, what projection…

Even Shaun might be (termporarily) realizing that Bush is a lame duck and it's time to redirect the venom at different non-radically-anti-war targets.

I doubt Lieberman will be McCain's VP, though he may as well be because McCain is weak and likely to lose no matter who he chooses. (Not for sharing with Lieberman a logical, normal, patriotic, sound foreign policy opposition to our enemies and defense of the USA and its interests, which the radical fringe cannot tolerate.)

    This is patently offensive.

    I have to agree Manchester.

Shaun always uses strong languave. Even so, I think he makes a legitimate point thatt many are thinking but don't want to say,, because of the instant accusations of anti-semitism that come pouring in.

When does a Senator's special and heart-felt interest turn into the equivallent of being a lobbyist for a political faction of a foreign country? Itai, an Israeli veteren of two wars, asked me that question and wanted to know if ths was customary in US government. . I had never thought of it that way, and now that I have, I still don't know how to answer Itai.

Itai's brother Erin is more concerned about Hagee. There are supporters of Israel that many Israelis would rather not have.

Where does that leave Lieberman? Is he doing Israel any good by being so extreme? Is he doing the US any good by shopping his allegiance around like a used car?

I can't read his mind, of course, but I do wonder what he thinks he's doing..

We've spent more than half a trillion dollars and more than 4,000 lives on an elective war against a third world country that posed no threat to the security of our country, based upon false information and the blatant conflating of one enemy for another.

If fail to see what's so “patriotic” about that, let alone “logical”, “normal”, or “sound.”

Furthermore, when the proportion of the American people who oppose a foreign policy reaches 60%, it ceases to be a “fringe.”

in regards to holy joe…nothing has changed….he is as he always has been…a republican in dem clothing. a man willing to sell his soul for political power.

while watching the movie recount, they showed a clip of joe, basically throwing gore under the bus

oh, and he was the keynote at last year's nuts for israel only if it brings jesus convention….and at that time, he compared hagee to moses

joe is a real piece of work

  11. unclejoe40 says:

I hope you read this runaism because honestly after introducing an op with that kind of language there is absolutely no point to be made that is credible in the vein in which it was delievered.
