I've gotten tired of cheerful, chirpy, but canned sound bites. (Also I detest the contemporary faddish mispronunciation of English by her as well as by others on the airwaves. Quit hardening the consonants, quit extending and over-emphasizing consonants and sibilant sounds, quit aspirating Ts, etc.. Arrgh. It's cheap hype to use EX-PLOSIFFFFFFFFFFF LANKUACHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)

No matter who is the Dem nominee (I'll use a very timely analogy here — Hillary Clinton is the Pittsburgh Penguins while Obama is the Detroit Red Wings — “This series isn't finished yet!” the Penguins say) it's the post-war Iraqi situation and disappointment with it and the Bush administration that has been expressed in the 2006 elections and will likely put the Dem nominee into the White House.

The GOP has had nearly two years to offer a positive alternative to the Dems and to the past several years. The GOP hasn't done this. Often they're Dems Lite or something even less self-defining, as if “conservative” means being [shrug] just like the Dems but as watered down and neutered as can be and it's as if all they can do is just stand there and hope enough voters dislike the Dem nominee they'll vote for McCain — a “default candidate” by attrition all the way to November.

Colin Powell, yes, altho he caved in to Bush's pressure.
Condi Rice. Can you name one thing she has accomplished??
She has always been a mouth piece for Bush and together they
have made things worse, not better.
Barack Obama. He is our only answer. We so desperately need
change in government and he is the only one who truly will seek
this./
