For some people nothing is 'above the fray'.They like to wallow in slime.

My hope is that more Democrats and Republicans will speak out against this mudfight form of politcal battling., no matter who is the target.

I had to laugh. Not at Lamar Alexander's lukewarm statement, because this is the guy who said in 1996 he was offering Americans “new ideas” without ever telling us what those new ideas were. What I laugh at is the ridiculous notion that his behavior in any way can be considered Not Contrite Or Guilty Enough. What a joke.

You know, I am not voting for the espouses. If Cindy McCain is a millionaire and chooses to invest her millions in whatever, or if Bill is a disbarred attorney, or if Michelle makes gaffes that more seasoned campaigners would not or if Chelsea chooses to say or do whatever in response to (what I consider) inappropriate questions…I don't care. I am carefully scrutinizing the candidates to try to determine their positions on various issues and how those agree with mine; their values; their reactions when they are up or down; their coolness under fire.
If we had been judging a candidate by his espouse, Abraham Lincoln would have never been elected president.
