Actually I always thought both the coyote and roadrunner were boys. Maybe because I had a brother 22 months younger than I. (No sisters.) My brother and I used to try to get the better of each other, not that our games were as violent (or cartoonish as the show), so there was definitely a very similar dynamic. And we weren't as stupid as the road runner. Just my brother. :0- He still is….

(I say that last in good humor.)

Male. I remember him dressing up as a female roadrunner. Besides, he did really stupid things (attaching rockets to skates and skating off a cliff, etc. ) so he had to be a male. Just kidding!!!!!

Somehow, I neglected to worry about roadrunner's gender identity.
I got sidetracked by trying to decide if god was a he or a she.

I did wonder, though, whether beep-beep could be replaced by a more musical sound. without endangering the inner self of the character'.
