The media is totally in the tank, with a few honorable exceptions, for Obama. Anyone who denies that should, please, give me a toke off his/her bong. I was in the ink-stained wretch business way back when & there is a "thundering herd" or "the trend is your friend" tendency among journalists, who have to keep their jobs by being fast on their feet. Integrity rarely sells in the managing editor's slot. Journalism is becoming a lost art, sadly, although a walk back through American history demonstrates it has always been the way it is today---almost monolithic in its prejudices once all the winks & nods have been exchanged.

Psychologists call the phenomenon "transference," just as girls all menstruate at once after a few months in a female dormitory. Good analogy also for the level of thought going on in the minds of the deadline-beaters.

And not participating in candidates' conference calls should be a badge of honor, as my experience in three national political campaigns [last was for Mondale] showed me that little of substance is ever purveyed. At best a journalist learns what kind of story lines are among the spin-cycle choices.

And Obama/DeanScreamMachine should put their heads together & figure out what to do with MI & FL. Dean's incompetence & apodictic ways might yet blow it for the Dems. If they can surmount that obstacle, the next move will be to invest the Obamanable Showman with an aura of inevitability, which will keep the less-involved voters from showing up & give him a 25% win. Of registered voters.

Anyone notice what happened to Nader's campaign this year?

The media are in the pocket of whatever story line sells at any given moment,, and they switch story lines on a dime, if it suits them.

It's different with blogs, however. I can understand why Clnton supporters feel besieged and mistreated. For months, Obama fans expressed their preference, not by explaining what they like about Obama, but by running non-stop anti-Clinton posts.

The same thing happened on the Internet as has happened in Wahington: an endless round of bitterness, accusations and blaming the other.side.

I just hope people are wise enough to look for some dignity in these final weeks.
To her credit, Clinton appears to be trying to do so, no matter what her motivation might be or how it is parsed. by commenters.

I doubt the media is overall pro-Obama … if they were in the pocket of any candidate at a point, it was Clinton, since until the primaries actually started they had touted her as the inevitable democratic nominee. Obama has rightly gained the title of presumptive nominee since he conquered the Clinton force which had been deemed unconquerable. The media is just giving him his well deserved kudos, which is also a kick in the pants for themselves since despite painting Clinton as the next Democratic presidential candidate, a majority of people have come out and refused to accept the proclamation of the media and the Clinton campaign.

Sen. Clinton's campaign in fighting for the future of America and all Americans is still vibrant for her supporters and certainly on no "life support."

The Democratic primaries are still in progress and FL and MI yet to be resolved. When concluded, the superdelegates must select the best qualified candidate to win the general election using their independent judgment with no regard to any "delegate math." Sen. Clinton is the best qualified candidate to defeat McCain, and she will be the Democratic nominee.

Obama and his superdelegate supporters are in a conspiracy to attempt an end run around the nomination process to swipe the nomination with the orchestrated daily superdelegate endorsements, announced with fabricated fluff. This end run by Obama shall fail, and the integrity of the Democratic presidential nomination process shall prevail.

The "death watch" of the pro-Obama biased media is an abuse and misuse of media power and the freedom of the press. The pro-Obama biased media have interfered in, undermined, and subverted the Democratic presidential nomination process. The pro-Obama biased media continue to sabotage Sen. Clinton's campaign with impunity. This media tyranny is our democracy's worse enemy.
