“The most important political office is that of the private citizen.” Justice Brandeis had it right. Too bad that particular “branch” of govt. has been just as lacking in competence as the others. This November will present an opportunity for amends though. Why don't we just call it a national IQ test? Afterall, that's what it will be.

Sorry, Robin, I confused you with Pete as I had reviewed something of Pete's earlier.

There's no quiestion about the elitism found in lib-Dem and “progressive” [sic] circles. A different statement than the Italian title that would apply to man in the Obama crowd would be “Idealism Isn't Elitism.” (And no, elitism doesn't require an aristocracy.)

Exactly! The way some folks throw the word around you'd think it was elitist to own a dictionary. Of course words couldn't be effectively misused and rebranded unless a certain portion of the populace was ripe for it. Call that a plug for education – or even basic common sense thinking if you like.
