This sums it up pretty nicely.

Our lifestyle is coming to an end. The worlds population is growing out of control. China and India have suddenly awoke and are demanding foods and oil and gas and Stuff to make their 2 billion citizens join the 21st century.

China is the number one polluter in the world now. They emit more green house gases then does the USA and coal fired power is the number one polluter in the world. China is on track to add one new coal fired power plant per day for the next 3 years.

A portion the size of Texas in the heart of China is a swirling dust bowl. Drought is upon half of the USA and has been for 10 years. Corn is providing ethanol to help cut our gasoline dependancy by about 10 percent yet with the growing shortage of food we cannot continue to farm our gasoline at the expense of cutting food growth.

For once in our lives this generation of young children are not expected to have a better and more secure life then are their parents. We are falling behind in education and our jobs are being exported to China, Mexico and other third world countries.

    Our dogfood is poisoned.

Our Medicines are produced in filthy scum ridden shops in foreign countries with poor quality control.

Our Debt is heading towards 10 trillion dollars and we are soon going to be unable to balance the budget without huge repercussions and hard hits on our local citizens.

Health care for all? No money.

Food for all? Not while we are growing corn for gasoline.

The end of our lifestyle is at hand. Ford, GM, Chrysler, Exxon, Chevron........etc.etc...huge corporations who contribute a huge portion of our jobs market are going to have to downsize to nothing. Million and millions out of jobs in the next 25 years.

The time for change is now. The time for activist Democrats who dont care about abortion and Gay rights but the survival of America need to be in charge. If we let the GOP continue to run things we will only see more of the denials while they pad their pockets and push the day of reckoning off on our children.

Oh thats being a bit dramatic about it all. We have the means and resources to fix all those issues without being a complete end to the prosperity we've come to expect in the last 50 years. Small changes on the part of citizens and large changes in the way our leaders guide us, which is largely going to mean a switch from GOP to more liberal policies that have a much better track record of success.

Also, a good dose of perspective as mentioned in the cartoon wouldn't hurt either.
