I think the destroyer mentality is what milennials are against and they really aren't going to be susceptible to statements like superdestroyer's post. That post is solely concerned with tearing apart Obama with standard conservative scare tactics. Look, did we move to far to the left in the 60's? Yes and that is the reason why things were so bad in the 70's. I voted for Reagan because the regulation and taxes got out of hand. However, that doesn't mean that we don't have an obligation to pay for things like roads, bridges, schools and it doesn't that lead poisoned toys are a good thing. I am no longer a Republican because that view is seen as "far left."

Solid baby boomer doubter, but my son (who's older than the Millennials) knows that I've fought the theft of his future tooth and nail.

This is great news and just what America needs, civic minded young people fired up about tackling our biggest problems. We can do it. Meanwhile, there will be lots of drivel from the old guard saying 'no you can't'.

Well, he (Senator Obama) has a unifying message, so it’s — that’s important, because these are not a generation interested in the confrontational culture wars of the boomers.

Nonsense. If there is any presidential candidate who has less of a message it is Senator Obama. His positions are standard boilerplate Democratic initiatives. His advisers are the standard prep school, Ivy league former junior staffers (from the evil Clinton Administration). His message is I can give you more goodies (free health care, free college, free transportation, a government job) and will tax the evil Republicans to do it.

He has made no real policy initiatives about the deficit, about education, his immigration policy is at ends with his environmental policies, his racial policies are a throwback to the forced busing days of the 1970's.
