It's tough to see Clinton's stand on this issue as anything other than pandering, and her comments about "elitist" economists is disgusting and reeks of the arguments Democrats have been fighting with respect to attacks on science and the advice of experts. That said, it's also terribly disappointing to see the Obama campaign respond with an ad this negative. He can point out the flaws in the Clinton plan without attacking her, but this ad pushes a bit further than it needs to. If he is going to convince people he is sincere in his efforts to change the way politics is run he needs to remain respectful while still making his point, and this ad unfortunately seems to cross the line into "politics as usual".

This is America's chance to reject the current style of politics in favor of something more substantive.

Clinton is betting we're stupid enough to fall for her gas tax proposal and her conflation of Wright and Farrakhan with Obama.
