I can't help but contrast the photo of the brave Sergeant with a recent clip of GWB cavorting in front of the press, wearing his familiar self-satisfied smirk, and treating all as a tremendous joke. One man's sociopathy leading to another's sacrifice. This is the obvious comparison to be drawn.
Given that it was Anbar Province in February 2005, the explosive certainly was set by insurgents. No more specific mention of the perps in any of the stories I read.

For the record, I was of course trying to identify the perpetrator as the worst person we should be most angry at, rather than Dubya, but also, this was _not_ an attempt to try to absolve Bush of the consequences and the magnitude of those consequences, of his decision to take us to war in Iraq.
