It depends on what was sought. I wish the "Livni map" (the map she presented; actually it's the "Olmert [government] map) had been made available for us to see.

If it looks like this,

http://www.legalaffairs.org/issues/September-Oc...

well, forget it.

There's nothing sacrosanct about the Green Line. Israel is not required to retreat to it and would be endangering itself by doing so. However, there's no reason why some of the settlement blocs in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) close to the Green Line couldn't be retained, in exchange for some land _inside_ the Green Line to join an Arab state or territory. Something like the following makes sense to me and to most people:

http://www.legalaffairs.org/issues/September-Oc...

Israeli hardliners and US hardliners appear to have the same speech writers: if someone dares to disagree with them, then they are aupporting terrrorism and undermining security.
It's the politics of fear, instead of the politics of reason., in both countries.

With Obama 'not talking ' to Hamas and Clinton 'obliterating Iran', there is no leadership for reason in the US anymore. It seems to be all on JStreet's shoulders now.

If I didn't care so deeply about Israel's survival, I would turn my back on the whole mess.
