In August and November of 2007, McCain made two separate satements re staying in Iraq.

In one, he said the comparison to staying in Japan, Germany, etc. (i.e. no casualties) was not legitimate, because of diffeent conditions and local culture. He said the Iraqis would resent our presence, and the US should leave as quickly as possible.

In the other, he said the comparison was legitimate and we should stay as long as iwe want to.. He didn't explain how we would get to the 'no casualties' stage, however.

He made those contraidctory statements within months of the same very recent year.

When DLS's 'sane' vote for McCain, which McCain will they be voting for?
