10 Areas In Which John McCain Is Vulnerable
What that the Democratic presidential slugfest was mercifully over and Barack Obama could turn his full attention to John McCain. Here is a Top 10 list of areas in which the presumptive Republican nominee is vulnerable:
(10.) Hiding his assets behind his wife’s financial veil of secrecy.
(9.) Continuing questions about his anger-management issues.
(8.) His bumbling record on MIA-POW issues.
(7.) His fawning relationship with the hateful Reverend John Hagee.
(6.) His prevaricating about no longer having ties with majorly influential lobbyists.
(5.) His flip-flopping on torture.
(4.) His schizophrenia as a sometime conservative and sometime maverick.
(3.) His more-tax-cuts-for-the-rich economic policy.
(2.) His bomb-first-and-ask-questions-later foreign policy.
(1.) His cynical, morally and financially corrupt “100 years in Iraq” plan.

I say we send Johnny some much needed FitFlops, so he can at least have a well-turned calf for the elections.
Seriously, the John McCain Talking Doll never says the same thing twice! And yet America has been bamboozled ( or is ready for t's morphine drip) of the Medias head- nod to “McSame.” For a man who won't stand for anything for more than a year, can we really trust his judgement? And why is he wearing a vest and no one else is-is Cindy bulletproof? Or is all that botox,collagen and other man made substances going to save her? Of course, they may have all been wearing vests, because NO is just like the Green Zone, except John forgot to take his off, maybe.
You also forgot to mention that he is too stupid to realize that open borders and unlimited immigration make having a lower taxes, a smaller government, educational improvement, lower crime, lower sprawl, or fiscal constraint impossible.
Senator McCain makes Bob Dole look like an intellectual.
I don't think Sen McCain is tough or ruthless enough to take on the Left Wing Noise Machine in the Fall.
His sandbagging the NC Repubs for the commercial re: Obama is suggestive of this fact.
If Obama is the Dem. candidate, he will sigh and express his dislike for the 527 ads — that will be echoed by Shaun here, I am sure — attesting to McCain's treason, impotence etc. And Obama & Co. will walk out of camera range, and laugh all the way to the White House.
HRC vs. McCain will be a slaughter of Biblical proportions…to be surpassed only by her revenge on the Democratic party once she achieves the White House.
Thus, at least a 1 in 3 chance that Shaun will be in Guantanamo Bay in early 2009 (of course, it will be McCain…not HRC…that puts him there…of course
Marlowe- I completely (but respectfully) disagree. McCain's opposition to the NC GOP appeared to me to be a calculation, not a lack of courage. He simply sees that there's more to be gained in burnishing cred with Independents than in giving red meat to the base.
CStanley…I concede that you may very well be right.
I assumed McCain was just wiffle-waffling on that commercial…as he seems to have reversed himself again in the face of blogger criticism etc.
However, maybe he is being devious and, as you say, tacking to the center.
Nothing will surprise me in this election cycle…just about every candidate has been written off at some point.
The picture has been photoshopped. McCain didn't wear a vest to the Lower Ninth Ward.
