DLS,
actually if Obama had pulled off a win by that much it would have still been amazing and definitive since it would have meant he gained 20 pts in six weeks of campaigning. As it is, only halving the margin is great and means he will be quite competitive, and will almost certainly win the general since he is now ahead of a candidate who only a few months ago was the inevitable democratic nominee.

Many of the Obama groupies (including on this site) would be gushing and calling it all kinds of "definitive" if Obama had won 50.000001 to 49.999999.

I think you've pretty well summed it up Elrod. I too find it annoying, and see it as a big lead up to a whole lot of nothing. Someone please wake me when it's over.

If this goes on much longer, the Dem. Party will have no chance in Nov..

I thought the superdelegates and party elders were there for a reason, not just to sit by as as the situation deteriorates. Right after he NC and Indiana, primaries, the remainng undeclared superdelegates should step up to the plate and declare their choice.

Every attack and negative ad going back and forth now will come back to haunt the Dems in the general election. The only way to stop those is to put an end to the rivalry.
Even now, how could Hillary work to support Obama, should he be the nominee?
Could she say with a straight face: "I didn't mean tit. He will answer the phone"?

The negativity has boxed both candidates into a position where they will have to fight against the GOP and also the echoes of primary accusations by each other.

This has got to stop.
