Not only did we have to listen to spurious questions from two men who are supposed to be serious journalists but most of them were directed to Obama, who tried repeatedly to put the discussion on a more positive and meaningful course. It is almost unbelievable that of all the serious questions that millions of Americans have about this election that the best one Charlie and George could come up with from a citizen was "Why don't you wear a flag pin on your lapel?" Seriously. Let's not forget that W wears one on his lapel and what have we gotten from him? How does he manifest his patriotism and love for America and Americans? -With lies, treachery, loss of civil liberties, cronyism, pre-emptive war based on a pyramid of deceits, largest national debt in history, stolen elections, corporate raiders, tax breaks for the richest, food riots, sub prime debaucle, unemployment, torture...TORTURE. All of this and more going on in the USA and we get a debate obviously framed to get ratings. I shall never again watch This Week or The ABC Evening News. I just can't trust these two clowns (Charlie and George) to be authentic ever again.
PJ Frederick

Obama tried to point out that the gaffe and gotcha line of questioning is not what these debates should be about, but the moderator was relentless. It was all about lapel pins, Rev Wright and guns.
People from the media just don't get how they screw the public, or they don't care.
I was disgusted.

Isn't there a single person left in American broadcasting who could come up with an intelligent line of questioning?

The questions sounded more from the mind of the Enquirer editors than from a serious news broadcaster. Very disappointing.
