runasim-

Well, look on the bright side- at least he's finally leaving office. 60% of historians are already claiming that his administration has been the worst in US history, with only 2% placing him in the good or great category.

He'll have to surround himself with loyalists the rest of his life so that he doesn't realize that this is how most Americans judge him. Its not much to go on, but it is an accountability of sorts!

Those folks who continue to believe in holding Bush's feet to the fire have a belief in this odd thing called accountability. Imagine that!"

YES !!!

I'm angry that he's getting away with it, still standing in front of flags, draping himself in 'patriotism'.
I'm angry that he'll leave office to attend fund raisers, mumbling about consevative values and family values, while leaving others to mop up the mess he made.

DLS, you still don't quite get it. Those folks who continue to believe in holding Bush's feet to the fire have a belief in this odd thing called accountability. Imagine that!

Where are his defenders? You never see them on blogs any more. They are probably worn out after all these years of screw-ups.

The Bush administration did excel at one thing: They made sure their questionably unconstitutional policies were justified by equally questionable memos from Justice Dept lawyers like John Yoo. There will be no day of reckoning or accountability because Bush/Cheney knew how to cover their asses, and expanded executive privilege to new levels.

Even so, I haven't heard anyone compare W to Truman or Churchill in quite some time, LOL!

"Really who cares about Bush's numbers anymore"

Only the children who still self-actualize through Bush-bashing and anti-war (anti-US-success) pathology. The rest of us, who know and are better, wrote Bush off long ago. Lamer than an ordinary lame duck -- it's Super-Dubya.

Really who cares about Bush's numbers anymore. He's not going to be impeached and he won't do anything smart to fix anything. We are stuck with him until next January. Secret "Energy" meetings, outing CIA agents, perverting justice, torturing prisoners, tanking the dollar via ballooning debt, screwing the middle class, and my personal favorite of starting a war thats caused untold misery for no good reason. He has done everything short of lie about his sex life to get impeached. Really makes you wonder if America would be stupid enough to endure another 4 years of GOP leadership. We'll be a 3rd world nation before long if they keep getting elected.
