Just to put it in perspective, Bush has increased the National Debt by about $3 trillion. If we assume a low, low interest rate of 3.5%, that's about $8 million every 40 minutes, compared to Clinton's $8 million over seven years that's being complained about here.

Sure, Clinton increased the National Debt too, by about $0.75 trillion over eight years. Comparisons are left as an exercise for the reader. It's a portrait in perspectives.

As DLS implies, you really need to add in the interest on the part of the National Debt incurred during each President's time in office. Of course, then all the office rents, Secret Service costs, etc. will vanish into the noise. Is there any doubt in anyone's mind how Bush will compare to Clinton seen that way?
