There is a growing sentiment that making this election into a statement on racial or gender identity is not what is most important to the country. Rice would make McCain look too much like he is trying to play the same game. Makes little sense to me…….

Her years as NSA would make great fodder for the Democrats who could crucify her for her failure to heed warnings of an impending domestic attack by al queda. Also,picking Condi offers no geographic advantage--she's from Alabama--but has no real constituency as a Governor or Senator would. She's an introvert from academia who values her privacy---not a natural campaigner.
