That wasn't a mistake about Dick Cheney -- he was talking about Dick Cheney's first gig in the White House. He was the 17th Secretary of Defense under the first president Bush.
Ventura is as down to earth as it gets. He's a realist and if he was seriously running for president I'd vote for him. I might anyway.

Ventura allows people to vent by proxy. .
He nicely lists all the things that are wrong with the current situation.

He fails my pragmatism test, however, because all his solutions are non-solutions.
We shoud stop doing X. Fine. Then how do you deal wtih the consequences?
There are always consequences, and a failure to act can cause as much trouble as any action, at times.
I respect people with ideals, havivng a few myself,, but when it comies to leadership, I look for a more down-to-earth person, willing to get his hands dirty in the work of sorting our complexities instead of depending on ideals to sort themselves out.
