Pacatrue, if you write a spoof (or whatever) on Obama I look forward to reading it! I enjoy reading things like this every now and then and I don't think they are dehumanizing. Though I think some people who write these things… and some people who read these things… might take them too seriously.

Hillary is not 'my' candidate. Obama is.
Who someone likes or hates is not the issue.

What is offensive to me its the amount and degree of dehumanization that is involved. We start with cartoons, and the next thing you know, some real live person is being ripped to shreds like wild animals tear at game.
Isn't that how racism and all the other isms of bigotry start? First, dehumanize,..
I also see similiraties to the allure of bullying, as well..

I agree with you that it's okay to poke fun at public figures. I laugh at cartoons.
It's the nonstop 24/7 nature of it that revolts me.; there is no space for humane or even relatively polite expression.
There is no balance.

I'm back because I realized what I said could be offensive when interepreted a certain way. I do not mean to be saying that one must find this post funny or they're not smart. People find funny whatever they find funny. I was just saying that it did make me smile, and I hope that I would also smile if it was poking fun at “my” candidate.

I thought it was quite amusing, runasim. I think it's okay to make fun of candidates periodically. I hope that I would be smart enough to also smile if it was done with Obama, whom I've voted for. Maybe I'd get all upset, but I think I should smile.

Maybe I'll give it a whirl in the next day or two. Making fun of Obama a bit.
