Another excellent review of a very entertaining book.

I liked it so much I read it a second time. The second time I noticed how skillfully it was structured. I also noticed that whenever it began to show signs of becoming serious, Roth would break out the slapstick. Which I totally loved about the book!!

I never took Roth too seriously, but I've enjoyed his boods for their entertainment value.
He has a similar effect on me than the many old English mysteries I've read. They're relaxing, because they don't require much intellectual input, while the occasional insightful passages are quite rewarding, because they come as a surprise.
