My God, how does one lose a gun? Furthermore, how can one even allow a gun to be stolen? What do they do, leave them in their cars and robbers break in? Are our FBI/DEA agents so sloppy that they can't even properly secure their own gun? No wonder we're losing the war on drugs....

Actually my sense is that many of the missing weapons are probably with the FBI/DEA agents (and whoever else) they were assigned to... they just wanted to keep them for their personal use. They probably feel that it is their right to keep a gun. (And I can hear the shower of complaints over that last comment of mine. I don't mean everyone at the DoJ, but I'm sure there are some agents- or whoever- who do report their weapons as stolen but keep them for themselves.)
