Dood, I don't much care for Hillary, but she does have some great ideas and amazing background. A lot of people like her and will stick by her come hell or high water (just like other people stick by their favorite candidates, including Obama, all the time- I'm not faulting anyone, just pointing out reality). Given that she's a well-known national figure many people will overlook her liabilities. I'm not too surprised that she has a loyal following.

But generally speaking her unfavorable ratings are the highest among the candidates. Because she's such a polarizing figure, she attracts people who do not have a problem with polarizing people- and perhaps think such attitudes are acceptable. After all, she certainly does. And what's worse is that many people don't even realize the polarizing statements she makes, so it's no surprise that some people feel that she is getting short shrift.

Obama's speech did nothing to win over new people. It's the most over-hyped teleprompter reading ever. He just preached to the choir.

The media's endless stomping of Clinton is what is having an effect. Couple that with the whining for her to quit, and it's amazing that she polls as high as she does.

Contrast how Obama responded to the Wright speeches – quickly addressing the issue straight up, fully explaining his position – to how Sen. Clinton has addressed “Tuzla-Gate” – Dismissively, saying she misspoke for the first time in 12 years. I mean seriously, I'd expect much better from the camp that invented the political “war room” in '92, than to be out-politicked, once again, by Obama.
