Hows Obama need to toughen up a bit? He's weathering the storm just fine. All in all I'm with Moddoc, no way am I ever voting for a Bush or Clinton again. Might was well marry off Chelsea to Jeb Jr. to solidify the lines of succession at that point.

this is the one time for Senator Clinton to become president. If Senator Obama is the nominee, he will easily beat McCain. That means that in 2016, a tired, old looking Senator Clinton will be trying to run for office. Unless you have not noticed, women politicians do not age the same as male politicians. I do not think a 68 y/o women would have a chance to win in eight years. The visual media obsessed media will be very unkind to Senator Clinton.

John McCain lost in 2000 Hes now the nominee in 2008. Bob Dole ran several times and was the candidate in 1996. Nixon lost in 1960 and won in 1968.

Al Gore was the victim of his own created mess and botched efforts after the Florida vote. The party hated him for losing a sure win. John Kerry likewise.

Hillary would be leaving the race that she could win but chose the Richard Nixon exit fo 1968 which put him in good grace with both Reublicans and Democrats when he chose to run again.

I disagree. I think she would be a shoe in in 4 years or even 8 years.

No. Losing Presidential candidates...even for nomination...in America are no longer given second chances. Back in the "smoky backroom" days of Adlai Stevenson and Richard Nixon, this was possible.

Now novelty is all important. Did Gore get a second chance, despite Democrats feeling he was cheated? Did Kerry?

This is HRC's one shot at the prize, for which she has been building for years. In four years (presuming Obama loses) fatique with her will be even higher than now -- and the progressives will have found bright newer shiny thing to latch onto.

She has been a player in the Big Show for years. She knows this is her only chance. She clearly feels she is far better qualified than Obama...and he is only one of those irrational fads that Americans frequently take up (like Pet Rocks). Certainly there is ample evidence for the irrationality of Obama's candidacy.

If I were HRC I would have hammered Obama from the Get-go...let progressives scream and howl in outrage (they would anyhow, as they despise her)...and laugh all the way to the White House.

From the standpoint of dynasty, I will still oppose Hillary in 4 years. Of course, then she'll be running against Jeb as he unseats the failed President McCain. Enough with the dynasty building already.

This is an open letter to Hillary Clinton. I will post it on my website as well and email a copy to the Hillary Clinton Campaign.

Its a simple letter really.

Hillary.

Please drop out of the election this weekend. The progressives who do not support you want their own in the White House and you are not welcome.

The best thing you can do for yourself and your party and your legacy is to drop out and graciously concede to the will of the Democratic Primary process. If Barak Obama wins the presidency you will be hailed a hero. If Barak Obama loses the presidency you will be in a position to run again in 4 years and this time just like John McCain the nomination will be yours and your position will be even stronger.

You will have 4 more years of experiences and you will have the admiration of the people who will put you in office. Continuing the fight is in your blood but sometimes we all have to know when to say when. Today it is time for you to say when.

The Democratic party, Hillary Clinton and the nation will all benefit greatly from your gracious concession.

So then we have no candidate. If Obama is unacceptable then there is nothing to bother with this year. An ongoing familial dynasty is unacceptable to the nation lest we conclude that Jeb should follow a Hillary presidency. America is a diverse place and the same 2 families running the country for 20+ years is not American.

Compare this to past elections and this has been a pretty mild primary.

Because the overly sensitive Barack Obama cannot handle a few rough pot shots taken at him so we have all had to be nice to him. I think we all have. Im a Clinton supporter and I like the good senator. I just want him to go home and get some more experience and toughen up a bit.

I know thats harsh and I should have my fingers cut off for saying something negative about the Good Senator but there it is.
