Actually, it has worked for her (re: the kitchen sink strategy). Bizarrely, HRC dropped off the radar and let Obama have the time to re-define himself re Wright.

Clinton's campaign has been marred by a surprising lack of professional ruthlessness. There has been no single driver of her campaign like a Carville savaging Obama day in day out. That is what she needed. Instead, she had fat cat consultants like Penn soaking up millions in polling contracts.

You are, I suspect, quite correct. I had given her higher marks for ruthlessness than this. Clearly I was in error.

It is fascinating how the primaries/caucuses are revealing of the candidates in so many ways.

Maybe then we can get to the business at hand – defeating McCain and trying to turn the country around.

The only way she could possibly win at this point would be to totally destroy the credibility of Barack Obama. It seems that she's trying to do just that. What a shame.

Meanwhile the “beam in her own eye” emerges in the form a self serving misremembering of the “sniper fire” incident that never happened.

Like George Bush, Senator Clinton seems to have a problem admitting to human error. This wasn't a verbal typo, i.e. “I misspoke”. It was either a conscious and rather stupid lie or a self serving misremembering.

Clearly Hillary isn't stupid. She truly believed wah she said…but when the evidence showed she was wrong she should have humbly apologized and admitted the error instead of trying to spin her way out. If she had handled it honestly it would have actually humanized her.

It's a shame that Hillary Clinton has come to a point where her public image would benefit from “humanization”.

Clearly she is, at heart a great Lady and a good person. I guess the closer one get's to power the more corrosive the temptational acidity becomes, eh?

Yet I would vote for he over McCain “in a heart beat”. John McCain is living in a world of totally blind ambition and absolute delusion. The war/occupation in Iraq is a total failure and was an abomination from day one.

As far as I can tell; there are no saints running for office anywhere; meanwhile, I'm sticking with that flawed imperfect fellow, Barack Obama. Of the three people left in the presidential contest; he's the least corrupted.

The real bottom line is the degree to which the American body politic, as a whole, can/will mature. We are still a nation of sheep.

No “leader”; not even Barack is going to produce the changes we all want without lots of help from us, all of us.
