Sniper Fire? What Sniper Fire?

Looks like Sinbad was right. Clinton and her campaign “misspoke” (i.e., lied) about her 1996 trip to Bosnia:

The Clinton campaign says Senator Hillary Clinton may have “misspoke” recently when she said she had to evade sniper fire when she was visiting Bosnia in 1996 as first lady.

“I remember landing under sniper fire,” Clinton said last week, as she has before. But Sinbad called her out, as did The Washington Post, among others, and now even the U.S. commander in Bosnia, Gen. William Nash, is saying there was “no sniper threat”.

And yet her trip to Bosnia is a key component of her self-proclaimed “experience” in foreign affairs.

And her campaign, still trying to get away with such misrepresentational nonsense, is caught in a maze of spin and re-spin. She possibly “misspoke in regard to the exit from the plane,” says Howard Wolfson, her spokesman, but it was “a potential combat zone” and “she was on the front lines”.

Really? The front lines? Well, it was “hazardous,” Wolfson clarified, and there were “reports of snipers in the hills around the airstrip”. But that’s hardly the same as actual sniper fire, is it?

Seems like another convenient exaggeration, if not an outright lie, from a campaign that’s full of it.

Well, she deserves a public smackdown for trying to foist that one on us. Didn't anyone in her campaign tell her not to make up stories about things that were clearly documented? I think she's been borrowing some people from Rush's show, they've seemed like they'd like to do something to help her lately.
