DLS, by what measure are we to accept that you know what is and isn't an “adult”? Is that measure intended to be based on the posting you do here? If so, then I believe you have a lot of work ahead of you.

Robert, a lot of people are going to be treating the idea that an aspiring leader in this day and age can't be sincere and genuine in wanting to advocate for people who aren't of means and influence. Afterall, there has been much reason to become cynical about such a possibility. I also believe too much cynicism can take on a life of it's own and begin restricting ones vision.

Adults know that Obama is not another Martin Luther King, or JFK, or Jesus Christ.

Obama is a charismatic left-wing Dem politician from Chicago metro viewed as an “outsider” and hopeful agent of change who offers almost an identical agenda to Hillary Clinton's (also left-wing Dem) but with more attractive packaging as well as marketing (youthful, fair of face, and appealing to the nuttier anti-war Bush [and Clinton] haters as well as to naive, starry-eyed kids [though both groups overlap]).
