Clark was one of the greats like Asimov, Heinlein and Stanislaw Lem. Much of his fiction became fact. He was a "hard science fiction" writer along the lines of James P. Hogan. He avoided writing pulp like Alan Dean Foster, with plausible science and plot lines. He should be launched into space, instead of Roddenberry, Clark was a contributor to the advance of communication satellites.
