They have yet to pass legislation ensuring the equitable distribution of oil revenues, yet even to pass a law setting the date of provincial elections.

The goal of the surge was to create space for Iraq's political leaders to reach an agreement to end Iraq's civil war. At great cost, our troops have helped reduce violence in some areas of Iraq, but even those reductions do not get us below the unsustainable levels of violence of mid-2006. Moreover, Iraq's political leaders have made no progress in resolving the political differences at the heart of their civil war.

H: The strength of our military is at stake.
O: The military is being severely strained

[L]et’s be clear, withdrawal is not defeat. Defeat is keeping troops in Iraq for 100 years. Defeat is straining our alliances and losing our standing in the world. Defeat is draining our resources and diverting attention from our key interests.

I’ve introduced legislation banning him from unilaterally negotiating a long-term security commitment to Iraq, including the possibility of permanent bases.

yeah, right. That'll show him.

H: draw up a clear, viable plan to start bringing our troops home within the first 60 days of my taking office. A plan based on my consultation with the military to remove one to two brigades a month, a plan that reduces the risks of attack as they depart.

Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month,

H: We’ll empower local leaders and use U.S. and international influence to press the Iraqis to reach political reconciliation,

O: will engage representatives from all levels of Iraqi society – in and out of government – to seek a new accord on Iraq’s Constitution and governance.. [use] aggressive diplomatic effort to reach a new compact on the stability of Iraq and the Middle East. This effort will include all of Iraq’s neighbors — including Iran and Syria. This compact will aim to secure Iraq’s borders; keep neighboring countries from meddling inside Iraq; isolate al Qaeda; support reconciliation among Iraq’s sectarian groups; and provide financial support for Iraq’s reconstruction.

H:I will call on the United Nations to strengthen its role in promoting this reconciliation.
O:The United Nations will play a central role in this convention, which should not adjourn until a new national accord is reached addressing tough questions like federalism and oil revenue-sharing.

I like Hillary's plan, its pretty well thought out. Moreover its the type of campaigning she should have been doing the whole time. I'm still voting for Obama though, either one will get us out of there and neither one can stop the bloodshed thats coming with it.

Yet, Hillary is, of course, the 'divider' in most Ovama-bent commentary.
You can't believe anything she says. She probably caused the tsunami and the current Wall St. crisis, as well.

They are all politicians, folks. They will all say whatever they feel will get them elected.

When it comes to Iraq, I give Hillary credit for doing her homework and publishing her proposed plan for withdrawal in detail. I give her credit, becuae it's risky. There are always unforseen circumstances in the future and plenty of folks eager to take her to task for any deviance from her plans. It's politically much safer to remain vague and just promise peace and prosperity.

It’s also a time we put an end, once and for all, to the no-bid contracts that squander taxpayer money while lining the pockets of the president’s cronies.

What? End no bid contracts to Halliburton? Does anyone else wonder why Hillary apparantly supported no bid contracts to Halliiburton when she was busy gaining all that experience?

I'm just not sure she really wants to bring the subject of Halliburton no bid contracts up at this time.
