At this point, there is nothing that anyone named Clinton could do or say that wouldn't be touted a 'negative'.

Some of the folks railing about negtivity would do well to occasionally look in the mirrror.

I agree with Slamfu to a point (and others on here). But I think it's more a matter of her running a loose campaign with her followers saying what they want, rather than her having proxies. Sure some of the incidents may be “planned” but I think the Ferraro incident was Ferraro's own doing. I think Hillary's comments are enough (and just to be clear, she should be apologizing to everyone- not just blacks for any misspoken words). Whereas Ferraro's comments show that she just doesn't get it (which is part of the reason why I don't think these comments came from teh Hillary camp- this time).

I'm inclined to lay off Hillary on this one. Though having said that I think Hillary does need to run a tighter campaign and make it clear to all (and especially someone in Ferraro's position) that such comments are out of bounds. Hillary can't control what the average person says about her, but she can set expectations among her staff and volunteers.

She is just running a bad campaign. Did anyone expect it to not be vicious when it got close? To me it shows the typical Democrat style of just not getting it and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I think if she got the nomination she'd blow it just like Kerry blew it in '04. Obama is indeed running a different kind of campaign and I think he's the one to beat McCain in November. The fact she is still using this particular tactic after its already backfired on her several times just says she is clueless.

LOL I'm in agreement with Dave-in-Fla. She's playing dirty politics in using her proxies and then claiming no responsibility for what they say. But this happened numerous times and her denials lack any credibility. Her campaign must be channeling Lee Atwater.

The Clintons brought up the race card in SC and now are continuing it because if HRC can't get the nomination this year, she & Bill will do their best to make sure Obama loses in the general. HRC wants to win in 2012. Same thing happened in France awhile back when Chirac supported Mitterrand [surreptitiously] to elect him in '81 over Chirac's own party-rep Giscard d'Estaing. The Clintons are as low as Chirac, who was taking money from Saddam to keep his career afloat.

Sorry, I dont buy that what Bill Clinton said in SC was racist or legacy destroying. I didnt buy it then, I dont buy it now, and I wont buy it in the future. Even Olbermann in his venting last night called that boarderline at best. People have got to stop obsessing and getting all in a rage about all this crud.

One reason for the Clinton disfavor is this incident. While not as blatantly racist as the McCain-South Carolina- adopted daughter incident, it's nearly as bad as when the South Carolina- Clinton campaign showed a trend. The Clintons play politics in the Rove/Atwater(Lite) style.
