Now that Hillary Clinton says that her campaign “has turned the corner,” it’s time for she and Bill Clinton to turn one of their own and come clean about their financial holdings as have Barack Obama and John McCain.
The only reason for not releasing their tax returns is not the bureaucratic gobbledygook that Mrs. Clinton’s campaign claims is the hang-up, but because she and The Mister have something to hide — be it insider business dealings, questionable stock trades, or whatever.
You would think that the Whitewater non-scandal would have taught the Clintons a thing or two about transparency, but apparently not as we have just another example of this two-headed political powerhouse arrogantly believing that they can play by their own rules.
Cough up those tax returns, Hillary. Cough ‘em up.

Look, I don't think Hill wd be a good Prez, but let's not goad the Obamaheads into the Rezko mentality. He's succeeded by staying above it, and can cruise in w/o it. This is only a last shot, if hill tries to steal the nom.
Andrew Sullivan's on the same kick, Shaun.
I'm more interested in First Lady records.
Pete:
As it was, I put up my post on the subject at my own blog a few hours before Sully and his certainly is more in depth. But our bottom line is the same: It's time the MSM got on this story bigtime.
Rezko also raised money for Bill Clinton. Here's a photo of him with Bill and Hillary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Rezko.jpg Is she a crook, too?
I agree with pacatrue. For someone running on 35 years of experience, she's awfully close-lipped about what 8 years of that included.
Hahahaha…I love these competing demands.
Shaun and Sullivan and you Obamaniacs are barking up the wrong tree. Have you guys learned NOTHING after years of dealing with Hillary Clinton?
The woman's mind is Nixon-like in its convoluted workings. If she had to walk in a straight line she'd fall over. When you get her tax records, you can submit them to Price Waterhouse, and maybe in a decade or so their forensics experts will have a conclusion.
Obama is simply not in Clinton's league in this regard. He is a straightforward Chicago pol … from a town and culture where pols are regularly sent to jail for straightforward honest corruption. Rezko did a lot of favours for Obama. The record is clear on that. The lingering question is: Why?
To be bipartisan: Neither is McCain in Clinton's league.
The Keating business badly damaged him. In contrast, no one has ever figured out the bizarro morass of Whitewater, after a $73 million investigation.
Give Clinton her due. She is in a class unto herself.
This quote below, from an Obama aide, is a classic example of why Obama is so vulnerable for his Chicago connections.
From today's “Chicago Sun-Times”:
“We do not know how decisions were made to fill specific state positions, and we have no records of any individual recommendations we were asked to make or made,” says Obama spokesman Bill Burton “But we do know that Tony Rezko, among others, was helping to gather names for the positions coming open with a new administration, and, if it is established any names came through our office, we would have no reason to doubt it.”
So Obama…after 7 years in Chicago and the Ill Senate…has no idea how jobs were awarded in Illinois. Moreover, they don't know that Rezko cronies got jobs through Obama's office (how could they not know), but if someone proves it they won't deny it. But they will only admit it if someone catches them out.
Deception and equivocation.
And this is your saint who is going to transform American politics.
Definitely Hillary has something to hide with those tax returns. However if she is going to run on experience and include all those meetings and overseas trips she made as First Lady, then I agree with pacatrue and Amanda- let's have a look at her papers as First Lady. Otherwise why should we count that experience?
It's like Bush running again for President and saying that he has been President for eight years and therefore the most experience. Somehow that “experience” is supposed to equate to being able to handle the job and make good judgement calls.
If Hillary wants to count her 8 years of First Lady as experience, then let's see what all that great experience is. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of politicians conveniently hiding behind such tactics and saying (in effect), “Trust me- I know what's best for you and I don't need to provide you with any evidence. Just do as I say. I'm honest and clean.”
