Prepare for this image to be the one Democrats will use in '08. Obama is already planning to call McCain- John W. McCain, and this won't help the maverick in the least. McCain will have to tap dance between Bush supporters and those with BDS.
2. If it were reversed, would McCain actually be nervous?
3. Or _should_ McCain actually be nervous? Yes, the Dems have already happily clucked this morning on NPR that they can't wait to exploit the Bush endorsement.
name-calling is a Rovian strategy- Obama's just learning from the master. At least no one's trying to associate McCain with a despised dictator or the most hated terrorist on the planet as Obama's opponents have done.
I'll make the suggestion to Joe G. to just use this photo for the masthead of the website to save all the contributors from having to recopy it each day onto their posts from now until next November.
(And I guess if TMV actually had an undecided voter to call its own, I'd have a worry.)
Yes, of course, McCain has a very tough road to articulate his way through this campaign. And if he is not up to this task, then no, he's not up to the more formidable tasks that lie ahead.
Nonetheless, the story of the Republican nominee taking the endorsement of the titular party head isn't likely to cause normal folk throwing their shoe at the tv in Peoria.
And if the cost of the taxi fare to 1600 comes with the opportunity to put all those unemployed Pioneers and Rangers back to work with their six-figure fund raising skills, I think it is probably worth the disdain he suffers here.

Sure, those who aren't either under indictment or serving their ambassadorships overseas, LOL!

By the way, love the Tennyson reference, Shaun!

Clinton does have a high “shoe quotient” — the US public distantly echoes her and her already-legendary throwing arm…
