Well, I am surprised at this to say the least! If McCain can pull back the GOP base...that plus his strength among Independents could put him over the top in November. I well recall the shell-shock among Democrats in '04 as Bush mined this base and blew Kerry away.

I had assumed conventional wisdom being accurate that McCain was toast among evangelicals.

What an election year! Every week another shocka. Fantastic. Gotta love America. Where else could a ride like this occur?
