China has good reason to fear civil unrest, as it rules over many dissatisfied minorites over a vast territory. China;s domestic prioriteis turn into a headache for the rest of the world because it's economic power can sabotage the priorities others want to pursue. We need only to mention its role vis-a-vis Darfur and Myanmar.

I wonder, though, how long China can continue like this. In spite of its vast secret service and harsh tratment of dissenting voices. resentments have a way of bubbling to the surface. The likes of Al-Qaeda find fertile ground whereever they find unhappy people.
