Hillary Clinton’s Suggested Theme Song For Obama Campaign?

With the controversy over Senator Hillary Clinton’s criticism of Senator Barack Obama’s speeches and audience reaction to them, and suggestions elsewhere that Obama supporters are a kind of cult (yours truly does not believe it is a cult at all but that this is a charge being made to discredit Obama’s support), perhaps this is song via Old Blue Eyes is one that Mrs. Clinton thinks should be Obama fans’ new theme song:

I love it! So true - Obamamites or whatever the heck they call themselves - are scary. Very reminiscent of Dubya's following back in '00 and '04. I really detest Obama. If he gets the nomination I'm leaving the party for good. Obama does not belong in the White House, and all this popularity contest is really churning my stomach.

Wondernat, I think supporters of Obama call themselves Americans, same as Clinton and McCain supporters, but I could be wrong on that. And how is it reminiscent of Bush' support in '00 or '04 at all? People were swooning over Bush's stunning rhetoric? In '04, the line was vote Bush or surrender to al Qaeda and gay marriage. In '00 Bush was supposed to be the compassionate conservative who would temper a strong conservative philosophy with grace. I guess people were supposed to like Bush more than Gore for having a beer, so I will give you that tiny connection.

I hope once the bitter nomination battle is over, wondernat, that if the person you support is not the nominee that you will use your vote to get as close to what you think is right as you can. That's how I plan on using my vote anyway. If I'm disgusted with my party, I will still vote the best I can that will have some practical effect, and then, if I wasn't lazy, fight within the party or for a 3rd party to make it stronger in 4 or 8 years.

Great job, Mr. Gandleman. You managed to put words in one candidates mouth, and provide a smear of another at the same time. Swell!

PS Happysurge. We run stuff like this once in a while where we can have some fun. Don't take everything so seriously as if this mad magazine type of effort even if you think it is lame is put up here with some big political intent. It wasn't and isn't. It just was fun and when I showed it to someone who likes Clinton AND someone who likes Obama they both suggested I should put it on the site. The problem with politics in the US is that people are so ready to go into angry attack mode. Take a nice, deep yoga breath -- and by saying that I am not attacking people who do yoga, the nation of India, Hundus, Muslims or anyone else -- and realize that little post had no big political intent, won't change a single vote and still gave us a chance to see Sinatra at his best (and at the end at his not so best) in the There was no political intent...just a chance to get a cheap laugh and post the song. And we will do more of this as I find the comedy or musical bits. Realize: you just got to watch Sinatra wearing one of his more lifelike wigs!

    Joe, thanks, I love it!

Ol' Blue Eyes! I was debating with myself while watching, what year? I decided on '66, just before the CG popped up saying '65. Not a bad guess!

Love that "cu-ckoo" line. Very Rat Pack. Very old school.

I'll go ya one better here, Joe (assuming we are in fact having fun).

    Obama's equivalent:
