I don't think we should boycott the Olympics. There will always be problems and issues in the world. The Olympics show that regardless of our differences there is also common ground, this helps keep the dialogue open on the difficult issues.

The Chinese should be proud of what they've accomplished and they can do this with the Olympics. However the Olympics should not be a propaganda tool, nor should the celebration be used as an excuse to sweep common problems such as human rights and environmental issues under the rug. Other issues, i.e. political, should probably be put aside when possible.

Let the Chinese have their day in the sun, but their sunburn (i.e. human rights and environmental issues) need to be addressed, too.
